SASSA War Veterans Grant was released for those who served in the Second World War (1939-1945), or the Korean War (1950-53). You can apply for the military veterans grant if you are 60 years old or have a physical disability and not receiving any other social grant from the Government. In case, if you do not have an ID:
Complete a war veteran affidavit in standard SASSA format in the presence of an Oaths commissioner who is not a SASSA officer.
Sign a sworn statement by a reputable person like, a councillor, traditional leader, school principal, or social worker.
Bring proof from the Department of Home Affairs that you have applied for an ID.
If the Department of Home Affairs issued you a temporary ID, then must bring it.

SASSA War Veterans Grant Application Process

Once you completed the all required documents, visit your nearest SASSA office for the retired soldier grant application process. Carefully fill out the SASSA war veteran grant application form in the presence of a SASSA official. Make sure that only you as an applicant or SASSA officer can fill out your application form.

After completing the form, submit it to the SASSA officer and take the receipt as proof of your application process.
