SASSA War Veterans Grant is released for those who served in the Second World War (1939-1945), or the Korean War (1950-53).   • Sign a sworn statement by a reputable person like, a councillor, traditional leader, school principal, or social worker.
  • Bring proof from the Department of Home Affairs that you have applied for an ID.
  • If the Department of Home Affairs issued you a temporary ID, then must bring it.

Once you completed the all required documents, visit your nearest SASSA office for the retired soldier grant application process. Reasons for Lapsing of Retired Veteran Grant
